“Have you ever had any experiences with people confusing you for a different ethnicity? If so, which was the most… “interesting”?”
Mavi:
“Ooo! I know, how about a ‘What If’ episode: how would Brad and your siblings react if they all woke up as the opposite gender for a day? :D”
Sorry for not updating last week, I was really busy, Jenny’s wedding was last week and we were helping Douglass move out. Luckily he has almost nothing. Haha.
“When did Miriam decide to be a writer? Did she always write stories? Or is it something she only discovered later?”
Hey, folks! The next series of comics are answering reader’s question. And I’ll be trying to update three times a week, Tues, Thurs, Sat. I think I’ll stick to this strip format if the comic doesn’t need the large format.
I wouldn’t say Miriam always wanted to write, as a kid she always seemed to be conflicted by multiple choices. Being a vet was one, being a stunt driver was another. Considering how little she drives I think it’s a good thing that stunt driver dream of hers didn’t pan out.
Man, I am not answering what music I listen to a third time but I’ll answer your desert question.
I really like this Vietnamese dessert called che, specifically the black bean one, che dau den. (I don’t know if I’m spelling this right.) But I haven’t eaten it since I’ve last been in Vietnam because it’s never as good here. I don’t really know how to describe che, it’s kinda like a desert soup? Haha, I’m not sure. I like that and I also like our dad’s flan, my top two desserts.
One of many sex-central conversations I’ve had with Brad.
I have other comic ideas to draw but I’m a little too tired to do them. Do you guys just want to throw my questions my way and I’ll answer them with a comic? Yeah. Let’s do this.

Anonymous asked: I know you are not interested in a romantic relationship, but will you be willing to have a life long platonic relationship with a female?
I, uh. Well, with all that, isn’t that just a friend? So of course I wouldn’t mind.
I’d like to think that Stacy and I will stay friends for a while and, though I haven’t seen Jenny as much as I used to, we’re still friends.
Larger image.
Hey, guys. Not much happening lately, I’ve been busy but nothing of note to draw about.
Tien graduated recently and someone asked to see it so here you go. She’s gonna go work at her dad’s restaurant and, well, I think she’ll be ok.
I think I’ll just make the joke ones strip format.
So. This would explain why the family always looked at me critically whenever they ask if I have a girlfriend at the moment and after I said no… and why they so often tell me about other members of the family my age getting married and having kids.
Usually when people asked me if I was gay, I didn’t really mind. But for some reason in terms of family rumors, it drives me crazy. (I think also the association with Brad made me react the way I did, haha.)
Jesus. Christ
And Miriam likes to read gay stories, right? And if it’s really good she’ll want to show everyone, including our mother. Though how that makes her gay I don’t really know myself. Do they think she wants to be a gay male? Or a lesbian, somehow?
Outside of this, a lot of things happening this month. Jenny’s wedding, Tien graduating, Connor getting ready for his trip to Guatemala.
Maybe I should just get a girlfriend. Like a beard, not ‘cause I’m gay, just ‘cause I’m asexual and explaining the concept has had no effect.
@ninjalaptop: Did you just call me cute?!
Anonymous asked: are you planning to go see 'the beatles: the lost concert' film?
What? No? I wasn’t even aware of such a movie. I’m not really interested either.
I don’t watch a lot of movies, actually. I watch television mostly, I haven’t had time to watch as much as I want to but, well.
loki-needs-a-hug asked: Hi! I just read through all your comic and I have to say I love it! Sometimes I can really relate to what your saying, and it's nice to know I'm not the only one out there who think these things. Also, I just wanted to say that you seem like a really great brother! You kinda remind me of my older brother (^_^;) 'cause I know that if I ever needed a place to stay he'd let me stay with him, and he kinda takes care of me like you do with Miriam and Connor (which is also actually my brothers name!)
Hey! Good to know you’re enjoying the comic.
Haha. I try to be a good brother to make up for my temper problems, as the rest of the family does. I don’t draw the times where I lose patience with Connor and Miriam but it does happen. I’m just lucky that since it’s a family habit, they tend to brush it off pretty easily.
I probably learned from Bernard how to be a brother, not that we didn’t fight at times. One of my fondest memories is when we got into fisticuffs as kids behind our grandmother’s apartment, then we got into some more fights with some neighborhood kids, haha.
God, Jesus. I got off topic there. It’s great to know you have a great older brother too! I hope you continue to have a good relationship with him, because it’s nice to have.
Haha. Connor seems to be a good name to have.
Anonymous asked: What type of music do you listen to, if at all?
I already answered this. I tagged all the posts where I answer things as question but I’ll answer it again.
I don’t listen to much, mainly classic rock because that’s what our dad listened to. Lately I let Connor have his music playing around the house whenever he wants ‘cause he’s the only one that cares about music much, haha. So I listen to whatever he listens to. I listen to Vietnamese pop whenever I’m at Bernard’s or Douglass brings back the newest DVD of Paris by Night.
n-omalley asked: Hi there. I stumbled upon your comic yesterday and, now that I've finished reading it and built up enough courage, wanted to say that I really love it. Your drawings are really lovely and I admire your ability to write about yourself. Sorry if I start rambling here, but a lot of my friends don't seem to understand what it's like to be asexual (not that I blame them, we're only in highschool). It's just nice to know that there are other people like you and Miriam that I can relate to. So, thanks.
Hey, great to hear! I know how nerve wracking it is to talk to strangers, haha.
And I’m really glad to hear this comic is comforting in some way and not just me talking about myself a lot. Ah, high school, you might be right there. High school I was still figuring things out, I can only say I hope things continue to get better for you.
And thank you for reading and the great comment.
